I think I have a pregnant fish in my fish tank. What should I do if I want to make sure the babies live?

I think its called a tetra fish and it got really fat in the past week. Is it pregnant? I have several other fish of the same kinda that could have got it pregnant. There are other fish in the tank that I am afraid may eat the babies when and if they are born.
