Parent's, since you are allowed to use physical discpline in 16 states, will you use it?

parents should never use physical discipline. it teaches the child absolutely nothing but damages the bond that children have with their parents and their sense of safety and security in the world. imagine how frightening it is for children when the person who is supposed to love them the most suddenly starts hitting them?! awful. hitting may get the child to stop the behavior but it doesn't teach them what to do instead. also, i find in counseling, that children who are hit by their parents are more likely to have temper tantrums and verbal/physical aggression towards others. this is because they're never taught to deal with their emotions, just how to act out like mommy and daddy do.
