How can an artist better manage his time?

I’m an artist. Not a great one, but an artist nonetheless. I could be better though if i got more done. I have tons of ideas in the form of sketches that I hope to flesh out and make into full, complete projects, but I never get around to it. The same applies to other things in my life; I have piles of books I want to read, messages I haven't returned, and laundry that's been neglected. any profound advice?
